Off to the CIM Tutor Conference today: it’s all about Digital Marketing and what’s going on. It was really interesting in that a number of speakers highlighted the demise of SEO and the growth of social media marketing as a way to increase web presence and get traffic to your site. In addition there were some great case studies presented showing how effective campaigns with literally no budget can be. One agency showcased the RNLI and told the delegates how they had achieved a huge awareness by identifying the 12 top bloggers in the age range 15-20. They had approached these individuals by sending them a parcel, not saying who had sent it and relying on the power of blogging to get the campaign started. Eventually the bloggers were invited to the RNLI headquarters in Poole where the agency came clean and further blogging resulted in RNLI brand awareness increasing!!It’s always good to go down to the CIM at Moor Hall and catch up with people, great networking opportunities and a good bookshop – don’t take your wallet!
